The Traditional (flat weave) fouta is hand woven on a traditional artisanal loom. It is created by interlocking warp and weft threads. Typically the warp and weft threads are made from a sturdy fibre such as linen and cotton. Flat weave foutas have been used for thousands of years as towels, floorings, wall hangings and prayer mats. The flat weave foutas are generally quite thin, making them highly versatile.
